Thank you for applying to be a part of the 78th Annual Steveston Salmon Festival Parade. To make this event a special one for our community, please ensure to put your best efforts in decorating your floats/vehicles and costumes for individuals in your group. The selection of your application will be based on your group’s efforts to provide creativity, decorations and entertainment that contribute to the theme of our Festival and Canada Day.

PARTICIPANTS

Maximum number of participants for each parade entry category is limited to total of:

Maximum 20 for Elected Public Official.
Maximum 20 for Commercial/Business.
Maximum 50 for all other categories.
Exception may be given for Band or Performing Units.

INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

The undersigned agrees to indemnify, hold harmless and defend any action against the Richmond Agricultural and Industrial Society, Steveston Community Society, City of Richmond, and RCMP from and against all liabilities whatsoever arising out of their participating in the Steveston Salmon Festival Parade.

The undersigned acknowledges that they have read and understood the Steveston Salmon Festival Parade documents: A. Parade Info & Instructions, B. Parade Rules C. Safety Guidelines & Other Requirements, and agree to abide by them.

All applicants will be juried to determine who will be accepted. This is based on each group's contribution to the theme of the Festival and Canada Day, the overall number of applications received, and number of parade entries for each category.

Before submitting your application, please ensure you have:

  • Completed your Participant Information.
  • Completed your applicable Entry Description information.
  • Initialled your 'Acknowledgement of the Parade Entry Participant Limits'.
  • Provided information of your organization and parade entry for the announcer.
  • Included photo/image of your fully decorated entry.
  • Included image of sample handout if applicable).
  • Fully read and understood the parade instructions, rules, and safety guidelines in documents A, B and C
  • Read, completed and signed the Indemnity Agreement.All applications require a $25 Administration Fee plus GST (GST #802333112).
    Commercial/Business category applicants are charged an additional $250 entry fee plus GST.
    You will receive an invoice upon acceptance of your application.
    All fees are due by June 13th deadline or your entry to the parade on July 1st will be denied. There will not be any exceptions or extensions.

Steveston Salmon Festival reserves the right to refuse any parade entry at any time, including on July 1st.

This package will remain available for your reference on the Steveston Community Society website.
