Preschools at Richmond community facilities are designed to develop the whole child intellectually, socially, physically, emotionally and cognitively. A positive and encouraging learning environment is provided where children of various cultures and backgrounds share and learn about each other.
2023/2024 Preschool Registration Date
Registration is ongoing. Pre-registration request forms are due Friday March 8th.
2024/2025 School Year Public Registration Date
Online registration opens Wednesday, April 3 at 8:00 am. In-person registration is by appointment only from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Preschool Terms & Ages
September through June except on statutory holidays, public school breaks (winter and spring) and school Professional Development Days. For all preschools, children must be 3 years of age by December 31, 2024 to be eligible for the 2024/2025 School Year.
Preschool Fees
A non-refundable $50 registration fee is due when registering. This year’s fees are divided into 10 equal payments and may be paid by cash, debit, Visa, Mastercard, American Express or cheque. Monthly post-dated payments from the remainder of the school year are accepted.
Preschool 2024/2025 School Year Programs
Rainbow Preschool Licensed (3 years)
Children whose birth year is 2020 are eligible to register in this play-based program that is a specialty introduction to languages and cultures designed for 3 year olds with engaging activities like yoga, science exploration, library story time, gym and playground, Music movement and craft work. Participants can choose M/W/F and/or Tu/Thurs. Children can register for 2, 3 or 5 days.

Little Anchors Lincensed (4 years)
Children whose birth year is 2019 are eligible to register in this play-based program designed to prepare 4 year olds for Kindergarten. With learning opportunities in fine arts, science, intergenerational programming, yoga and music movements. Participants can choose M/W/F and/or Tu/Thurs. Children can register for 2, 3 or 5 days.

Times for Twos
This program prepares children for preschool and builds on fine motor skills and emotional skills in this play-based and social program. Parents may or may not be required to attend. Children must be two years old by December 31, 2023. This program is for 2021 birth year and runs September 2023 to June 2024.
Note: Times for Twos is unlicensed.* Participants may register for all 5 days.
*An unlicensed program means that it is unable to provide Ministry of Children support programs and grants and is not monitored by the Health Department. However, the standard of care provided is similar, if not the same, as licensed programs.

2024/2025 School Year Registration
The following documents for each child is required when registering:
- Birth Certificate.
- BC Care Care.
- Immunization record.
- Photograph (at some facilities).
